On my way to work this morning, something played over in my
mind.
It happened long ago but it was fresh to me this morning and
it became light in the reality of our Faith and position in Christ.
A former Governor of the State had once been driving by,
along the Ikorodu express way.
The BRT lane by law was a forbidden road for any vehicle
that wasn’t a BRT bus.
Oh but the temptation to use these roads! There never was any
traffic on these lanes even if the other lanes were as blocked as the wall of
China.
So motorists tended to disobey law anyway and used the BRT
lanes to get out of traffic. Then the Government made another law; to arrest
and fine offenders that used the BRT lanes.
And so it was on this day, that the Governor was driving by,
along the Ikorodu road, and his eye caught sight of an offender, a vehicle in
the BRT lane, and it wasn’t a BRT bus.
Offended he was, and he stopped that vehicle; He was going to
make it an example to others.
Alas, the vehicle wasn’t an ordinary one, for in it sat
a colonel of the Army!
The Army is high.
Very high.
Civilians are not regarded as equals, no sir.
But the Governor was unperturbed, for he was the Governor!
The Colonel is a high person!
Very high!
Civilians will take a lifetime to catch up to him, yes sir.
But the Governor stood in his way
For he was the Governor.
The Colonel may be high but the Governor is the most high!
The Colonel had the rank of power but the Governor is the Authority!
And so the Governor did prevail, and cut the journey of the
Colonel short
Yes, trouble indeed the Colonel did try to make but this is
the Kingdom of the Governor and he is the Power and the Seat of Authority.
Jesus is raised to the heights of Heaven where he sits with the
Father.
We have been raised with Christ to sit with him on his
Throne.
Satan is high.
Very high.
But we are the most High.
He knows things.
But we have the mind of Christ.
He is the prince of the power of the air
But we are the head of all principality.
We are, in Christ the power and the Authority.
We reign as kings.
Satan, the old war lord, the serpent and the Colonel.
The Man in Christ, a new creation and the Governor.
May we grow into this reality, Amen.
